Credit to obaseki's job plan

The Godwin Obaseki Support Group (GOSG has promised to suppport Edo Governor-elect Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Hon. Philip Shuaibu, in their bid to run a government of continuity and accountability.

The group hailed Obaseki for his plan to create 200,000 jobs in four years, saying that it is not an impossible mission.

The consultant to the group, Mr Taiwo Akerele, said the youths looked forward to the fulfilment of the promise.

He spoke in Benin-City, the state capital, during the post-election meeting of the group.

He said the next line of action for the governor-elect is to organisse series of policy dialogues on the various sectors of the economy for easy implementation of the blue-print.

Akerele said: "The task is for the group is to identify your members who have specialized training to support the incoming governor with capacity and human resource to ensure that all identified weak governance systems are bridged and the legacy of Adams Oshiomhiole is built upon."

He advised the GOSG to serve as a policy think-tank for the next government as it is the normal practice in developing economies.

Akerele identified some of the major flaws of elections in Nigeria as voter apathy and low turn out, recalling that and that Edo state was not left out.

He advised citizens to always participate actively in elections to enable them hold whoever emerged as their leaders accountable for their deeds or misdeeds in office.

The Chairman of the Governing Council of the group, Mr Henry Imoghieme, thanked the members of the group for their door-to-door campaigns and their positive attitude during the poll.
